What Form AI sees in your shots

Updated Jul 28, 2026

Every shot you play on camera is found, named and read. Here is what that means, concretely.

Named. Each shot is classified as one of ten types: serve, return, forehand, backhand, volley, overhead, slice, drop shot, lob, approach. Your Variety dimension is built from this spread. A player who genuinely uses seven tools reads differently from a player who uses three.

Measured. Ball speed is estimated for every shot, feeding Power.

Read in three phases. Each swing is scored through preparation, contact and follow-through. This is where cause lives. A backhand can keep landing in while the preparation that will eventually break it starts late every time. Outcomes flatter; phases tell the truth.

Placed in context. Each shot is tagged offensive, defensive or neutral from the situation it was played in. Initiative comes from how much of your game is on the front foot. Composure reads your contact quality in the hard moments specifically.

What it does not do. Form AI measures; it does not coach. It can tell you that late preparation on the backhand is dragging your Control down. Why that happens, and what to do about it on Tuesday, is a human conversation, and the humans are one thread away. The system scores the player. The mentor teaches the player. They were designed to be used together.
